                   Jhakhu Temple In Shimla (District of Himachal Pradesh):

Jhakhu Temple is dedicated to lord Hanumana. This Temple is located in Shimla on the Jhaku hills, the highest peak around Shimla. Jakhu is derived from Hindi word Yakhsa, Yakshas are the mythological character in Hindu mythology, a link between human and gods.  According to the legends on his way Hanumana rested on the Jhakhu hill when he was coming back from the Himalayas. He was sent there to fetch a medicinal herb when during the war with the Lankan King Ravana, Lakshmana got injured. Lord Hanumana is a trusted ally of Lord Rama. This temple is very famous and stands as a reminder of this legend. You can  see a large number of monkeys around the Temple, however they do not attack the visiting devotees, even they accept the eatables offered by the visitors. From the Jakhu hill you can see excellent views of mountains, town ,Sunrise and Sunset, and hill is full of narrow paths and roads, where you can get enjoy of walk.
